About Body Control Pilates

Body Control Pilates is renowned as a world-leading education provider for Pilates teaching.  The curriculum is internationally renowned and the membership body for Body Control Pilates teachers is the largest professional Pilates organisation outside the USA.  

The Body Control Pilates Method is based on breaking down Joseph Pilates' original classical exercises so that they can be taught to anyone in a safe and effective manner and to enable them to gain the full benefits of Pilates.  From this foundation good movement skills are established providing a sound basis from which to progress towards the classical, more advanced work. 

Body Control Pilates is remarkably effective - and medically-approved. It is of a holistic nature, being based upon a well-constructed philosophical foundation. Central to the Method is 'awareness of your own body' and each and every exercise is built around its eight basic principles: 

Relaxation, Concentration, Co-ordination, Centring, Alignment, Breathing, Stamina, Flowing Movements

Code of Practice

Body Control Pilates Teachers are governed by a Code of Practice that relates to how they run their classes and work with clients.
